“Friends” of My Christian Blogs
Friends Blogroll vol.1
Friends Blogroll vol.2
Friends Blogroll vol.3
This weekend we added our latest topical category: catholic blogs
I don’t typically follow catholic news or catholic specific blogs (since I’m not catholic), so I was suprized to find the category so rich. Check them out and leave me a suggestion if I left your favorite out.
I’ve just added another topic page. Christian Homeschool Blogs. This page features the best blogs about Christian homeschooling. Check it out and feel free to leave a comment.
My Christian Blogs makes it easy for you to follow all the best Christian blogs in one place. Now the obvious question. “How do I decide which blogs are the best?”
This post explains how I pick out the best Christian blogs. The comment section is open for you to share your thoughts.
When I created this site, I wanted to do something similar to AllTop, except focusing on Christian blogs and going much more in depth with topics.
But that still left the problem. Which are the best blogs in any given category? And how should I pick which Christian blogs belong on our front page?
So I came up with a list of quality indicators. These are broad principles which makes them work well in every topical category we track. The very best Christian blogs will do the following:
When one blog achieves all these, it truly becomes an authority blog for its topic. That is the kind of blog I want to list on this site.
For a blog to be worthy of the homepage it would need to have strong enough influence to affect all the other niche interests. It would have to have an appeal broader than it’s specific topic.
After 5 days of testing, I’ve made the first major revisions to the order and content of our front page. This was based mainly on two factors: which feeds were readers actually using and which blogs were stronger in Technorati authority.
While I had the data on hand, I wanted to share it. The following are dated numbers, and are likely to change in the near future. But they are accurate at the time of writing this post.
(also check out my list of the top five)
I just added the newest page to our site featuring RSS feeds that track Christian Movie Reviews. Now you can keep up with all the best movie reviews for Christians all on one page.
I’ve also set up a search engine so users can search by movie title.
I also did some php edits so the topic pages have a unique header.
After some research tonight, I’ve added a new category page. Christian News aggregates dozens of news sources from a Christian perspective. These are often the only sites that feature world Christian news. This page will be helpful for those tracking breaking Christian news.
It was not easy to determine which sites where major and which ones less important. So, please leave any suggestions below.
I was able to launch the first topic page this afternoon. Christian Mommy Blogs are all the best blogs written by / for stay at home moms. These blogging moms have used social media to connect, share ideas, and earn extra income for their families.
The first 12 all had massive technorati authority and great reader engagement. Over time this could become one of our most popular pages. Check it out and be sure to suggest your favorite sites to improve the list.
Welcome to MY CHRISTIAN BLOGS, a new way to track all the best Christian blogs. This site is just getting started and will improve rapidly over the next few months. If you have a suggestion please leave it in the comment section of this post.
Today was day #1 for this website. Here are a few things I’ve been working on to get everything up and running.
You can help! Just leave me a suggestion below, either your favorite Chrsitian blog or a category topic. If you like our site concept, you can link back from your blog too.
